  We began doing carpentry work over a dozen years ago, primarily to exterior surfaces like wood fascia, wood trim, wood siding and wood window trim.  We often come into to correct the incorrect work of prior contractors who didn’t bring a level of expertise to exterior water proofing.  

For example, often termite damage or water damage (“dry rot”) will compromise the integrity of the wood fascia, which is an integral part of the roof system. We love to help educate our clients that wood fascia needs to be installed by a professional roof technician, as it’s often removed and re-installed incorrectly causing more costly problems down the road. Water can easily enter in if not correctly installed.

 Another problem that can occur when a roofing professional does not handle the problem is “dry rotted” wood is removed and replaced but the root cause is not properly addressed to resolve the matter. Often roof or deck performance is the problem. If this is not remedied, the client will often have to pay for the repair again in a few years.
